Admission Deferral Request

Please submit this form to request a deferral of enrollment in your academic program. By completing this form, your deferral is NOT automatically approved.

Requests for deferral of admission should be made at least 60 days prior to the first day of the semester of initial admission. Late requests must be approved by the Graduate Dean.

You will receive notification from your graduate program once your deferral has been approved. No further action is required until you are notified of the approval.

If yes, it is your responsibility to drop all your classes before the start of the semester. If you need any assistance, please contact your Program Support Staff.

Per policy, students can only defer their admission for two semester. For example: If a student was admitted in Fall 2024, you can defer Fall 2024 and Spring 2025. This student will need to enroll for Fall 2025 or reapply for admissions. By selecting a term, you are not automatically approved for the term. Some graduate programs are cohort based and only accept fall students.
